INDUSTRIAL TRAINING INSTITUTE

With an objective of ensuring a steady flow of skilled personnel and to reduce unemployment amongst the educated youth by equipping them with required skills, education and discipline for suitable industrial employment as well as self-employment, Industrial Training Institutes have been set up under the Craftsmen Training Scheme in Goa. They are affiliated to National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), through the Directorate General of Employment and Training (DGET), Government of India in the Ministry of labour, New Delhi. They impart training in engineering and non-engineering trades is as per the syllabus and curriculum approved by Government of India in consultation with the above said Council.

Some of the trades and units in these I.T.Is are also run under approval of State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT), Panaji – Goa, an affiliate of NCVT.

FARMAGUDI
Established in the year, August 1966 at Panaji and later shifted to present premises in the year, March 1973. Initially started with the trades:- Fitter, Turner & Welder
PANAJI
Established in the year, August 1966 at Panaji and later shifted to present premises of I.T.I. Farmagudi and was then restarted at Technical High School, Panjim. This was then immediately shifted at the present premises i.e. in Altinho, Panjim. The trades avilable were Fitter, Turner & Welder.
MAPUSA
Established in August 1974 in Technical High School and later shifted at current prmises in May 1987. Initially started with the trades:-Fitter, Electrician, Turner, Electronics, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Secretarial Practice.
MARGAO
Established in August 1975 near Holy Spirit in Education Building. Initially started with the trades:- Cutting & Sewing, Stenography(English), Hand Composing & proofing and Plumber
CACORA
Two old ITIs i.e. ITI Curchorem, ITI Sanguem were merged as ITI Cacora in the year 1991. Initially started with the trades:- Cutting & Sewing,Mechanic Diesel, Mechanic Tractor, Welder,Fitter & Electrician
PERNEM
Established in August 1979 in a primary school and later shifted at current premises . Initially started with the trades:- Cutting & Sewing, Fitter & Electrician.
BICHOLIM
Established in August 1980 at two places i.e. Industrial Estate and Private premises and later shifted at current premises. Initially started with the trades:- Mechanic Diesel, Mechanic Tractor, Electrician & Fitter.
SATTARI
Established in 1981. Initially started with the trades:- Electrician, Plumber, Welder, D'man Mechanical, Turner & Fitter.
CANACONA
Established in August 1980. Initially started with the trades:- Fitter, Electrician, Welder and Cutting & Sewing.
VASCO
Established in the year 1981 at Sancoale with trades Electrician, Building Contractor, Mechanic Diesel, Welder & Fitter. Later in 1987, same was shifted at the present premises with the additional trades i.e. Wireman, Steno & Hand composing & Proofing
AQUEM-BAIXO
Established in 1996. Initially started with the trades:-Fitter & Electrician.
